Pick-Up Announcement - We will need car pick-ups to come to the east side of the building again for the next couple of days. Sealant is being applied to the asphalt playground. Thank you for your patience.
Pick-Up Line Announcement: We will not be picking up today from our usual spot on the north side of the building due to asphalt work. We will do this the old way from the east side of the building. After the buses pull out, we will bring the pickup kids out to get into your car.
Reminder: PTO Meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Bethel Cafeteria! Enter through Door #22! Everyone is welcome. See you there! 😀
Is Bethel Better Because of Me? Ask our junior high kids that helped with a Special Olympics bowling event today. Super proud of the service and support they showed today.
Today's baseball game has been rescheduled to next Wednesday.
6th grade has been learning about early humans. Today, they participated in an activity to see if they could survive by getting enough food, shelter and water. Most of them were able to find enough resources to survive.
Middle school made origami cranes representing healing. As a memorial to those who lost their life in 9/11 and to those countries like Japan who made cranes like these at ground zero to show their support to our country.
We also learned because of it when Japan had their devastating tsunami, America sent a steel oragami style crane made from the scraps of the twin towers to show support to them.
First Grade remembered the heroes of 9/11 by working together to make a giant American Flag to display in the hallway.
Congratulations to the Spring Garden-Bethel Hawks baseball team. They beat Field today 12-0. Another congrats to Gavin Hooper on his grand slam.
Attention Parents and Families: We get a lot of requests for students to ride a different bus home with another student. This is okay, but we need to change the way we do this. We get lots of these calls and relaying the messages at multiple times of the day can confuse the staff, kids, and drivers. If you need your child to ride on a different bus or be dropped off at a different stop, please write us a note that is signed by a parent or guardian. The student should give the driver this note so they know where to take them. Thank you in advance for your help on this.
Congratulations to Mrs. Withrow! She received an Innovations in STEM Grant from the Southern Illinois Community Foundation to support starting a classroom t-shirt business.
Congratulations to the Spring Garden-Bethel baseball team on their first win of the season. They beat Sandoval 12-2 today.

This week's favorite answers to, "What did you do this week to make Bethel better?"
I helped a little kid find his homeroom when he was lost.
I picked up toys on the playground that weren't mine.
I ran for Student Council.
I picked up trash that was left on the bathroom floor.
These might be little things, but they add up to a school we can be proud of. 18 free tacos from Taco Bell were given away to kids who wanted to share their good deeds.
Today's softball game has been cancelled due to heat related concerns.
Our 5th through 8th graders went to the "polls" today to elect this year's Student Council. Congratulations to Vice President Rylie Gockel, Secretary Sophia Berning, Representative Priya Prince, Treasurer Emi Richardson, President Lay Lay Washington, and Representative Ta'Vaisha Jones. Congratulations to all!
Bethel Beta has been honored as a School of Distinction! I'm a proud sponsor of this great group of kiddos!
From our friends at 4-H.
